devotional Book: a little god time for mothers

edited and compiled by: michelle winger

That one thing: spend time with god consistently even if it starts with two minutes a day.

when my kids were two and one years old, i could barely find the time to spend time with husband, myself, or god. this devotional was given to me by my godmother. it took 2 minutes to read one devotional but it encouraged me in their midst of a hard motherhood season. it helped me set a rhythm to spend time with god. now i spend more than two minutes reading and praying but god was delighted with me even in a season when i only took two minutes out of my day.

Book- atomic habits: tiny changes, remarkable results. an easy and proven way to build good habits and break bad ones

by: james clear

That one thing: small habits over time will make a big difference

for years my husband wakes up at 4am. monday through friday. alarm goes off and his feet hit the ground. he sees my weekday morning routine. alarm goes off, i stay in bed, and i get out about 15 minutes later. this book and with craig croshelle’s book winning the war in your mind finally made me realize the power of my husband’s good habit.

i learned to not listen to my body and let it tell me what it feels like doing (stay in bed for a little longer). instead, i will tell my body what it will do. i moved my alarm 5 feet from my bed. now, when the alarm goes off my feet hit the ground and i get going. my workouts are the first thing i do in my morning routine. the habit of working out 5 days a days will make a big difference, eventually.

if you are ready start some good habits… read this book!
